I slowly learned to discern and distill what I loved from what was merely interesting. Sometime after our second baby was born, I found myself spending more and more time reading Scandinavian and boho design blogs, or poring over the latest West Elm catalog, or Elle decor magazine. This came as a result of almost constant study. I’d like to think we have become more attuned to our true preferences and that our current vibe – somewhere in the realm of Scandi/boho – is a truer reflection of our taste. As a result, our spaces changed drastically each time we moved – from Midcentury pop to traditional with a hint of feminine. At first, we were heavily influenced by whatever was on display, the lime green that Crate and Barrel was peddling at the time, or later, the shabby chic/french country vibe that our local Home Goods had going on. When I moved to Houston to live with my husband, in 2010, we had the challenge of combining our aesthetics.
